This stunning French Industrial compendium clock was crafted by Francois-Arsene Margaine, one of France’s most renowned clock makers. At the center of this striking timepiece is an 8-day repeater clock in the form of an anvil with various mechanical instuments, representing the touchstone of the great changes in industry during the 19th century. The clock is joined by other “instruments,” including a thermometer, a compass, a barometer and wells for ink and powder. Hammers atop the anvil release a platform lever escapement button, striking the hour on a gong when pressed.
