Paul Storr Silver Teapot
An important George III teapot crafted by the legendary Paul Storr bearing the family crest of the Viscount Downe, John Heathcote. Its refined Neoclassical form illustrates Storr’s remarkable range as a silversmith. His ability to execute refined pieces such as this example, as well as his more sumptuous Regency pieces, demonstrates Storr’s mastery of the silver medium and the far-reaching influences of his body of work.

The teapot is enhanced by its original ivory handle and bears the inscription “Viscount Dawne 1883.”

A similar pot was part of the Lillian and Morrie Moss collection, as seen in The Lillian and Morrie Moss Collection of Paul Storr Silver, published in 1972, pages 156-157, pl. 100. <
