Atop a large plinth stands a columnar shaft that resembles a tree cast with foliage designs with five flanking arms that emerge like branches embellished with abundant scrolling foliage. Standing in front of the central column, each candelabrum has a dark bronze sculptural figure of a roman soldier shooting a bow and arrow. The idealized soldiers' nude classical bodies are frozen in a moment of action, their muscles taught and their energy focused.
