A superb English mahogany longcase clock, richly and abundantly adorned with superior carving and fretwork. Standing over nine feet tall, the clock includes scrollwork and acanthus leaves, rich accents of red velvet, columns, a broken pediment surmounted by three flaming finials, and an engraved floral bouquet on the gilded brass dial face. This grandfather clock represents the final glory days of British horology before mass production took over.
