This incredible Swiss singing-bird box boasts not only exquisite enameling, but a beautiful gallery of neoclassical decoration. Molded ormulu columns and floral garlands encircle the oval form which is elevated on four acanthus feet. The top of the box features a delicately painted lake scene on its lid, surrounded by a sea of aqua blue enamel. The lid opens to reveal a colorful singing bird, as a bouquet of enamel flowers graces the lid's underside. A marvelous example of Swiss ingenuity, this lovely singing-bird box is a delight to behold. Excellent condition.
