Commissioned by George V, King of Hanover (1819-1878), this exquisite 195-piece dinner service hearkens back to a time of extravagant dining. Each piece bears a coronet above the initial W, possibly referring to the royal House of Welf, a dynasty that included the Hanoverian and Brunswick lines as well as several British monarchs up to present time. A work of extraordinary craftsmanship, the service was jointly created by the Fürstenberg porcelain company and by the royal porcelain company, KPM. The highly detailed floral pattern differs slightly on each piece, while ornate gilding complements the exquisite artistry. This monumental service includes:
100 dinner plates
36 reticulated plates
36 soup bowls
1 large oval plat
