Commissioned by George V, King of Hanover (1819-1878), this exquisite 195-piece dinner service hearkens back to a time of extravagant dining. Each piece bears a coronet above the initial W, possibly referring to the royal House of Welf, a dynasty that included the Hanoverian and Brunswick lines as well as several British monarchs up to present time. A work of extraordinary craftsmanship, the service was jointly created by the Fürstenberg porcelain company and by the royal porcelain company, KPM.
