Eugene Galien-Laloue is best known for his picturesque representations of Parisian streets during the Belle Epoque. Born in Paris with the name Eugene Galiany, he later changed it in 1877 as a tribute to his teacher Charles Laloue. A trained architect, Galien-Laloue's renderings of Paris contain a detailed perspective that raises him above any other street scene painters.
