A lovely diamond brooch designed for the officer's wife of a member of the Royal Hussars, the military regiment designated to guard to the British crown. The Hussars trace their history back to 1685 and are one of the most prestigious regiments in the world. Winston Churchill, joined the regiment in 1895, and is rememberd as "the greatest Hussar."
