A monumental and rare breakfront vitrine by renowned French ébéniste François Linke, featuring ormolu mounts designed by Parisian sculptor Léon Messagé. The vitrine is constructed of kingwood and tulipwood with end-cut marquetry executed with Linke's signature skill and refinement. The entirety of the piece is enveloped in ormolu mountings distinguished by Messagé's eye for asymmetric, graceful form. Three beveled glass doors are fitted on the façade and the interior with mirrors making it an exceptional display. The doors are framed in intricate ormolu and surmounted by a stunning espagnolette, or bronze female bust, resting in the center of the arched pediment while the apron cartouche features masks, fans and shells.
