A fine Limoges porcelain plaque superbly hand painted to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the depicted couple. Interestingly, the last initial of the monogram matches that of the artist, so it is possible that it was painted by the couple's son, daughter or relative. Inscribed 40th Marriage Anniversary Paris 14th May 1889 and signed 'P. Soyer.'
