A Russian shaded enamel and silver kovsh featuring a variety of colors in an intricate design with a gold washed interior. The kovsh, a medieval drinking vessel modelled after a Viking boat, represents "the vessel of life" and was often used in formal ceremonies. Marked from the workshops of Grigoriy Mikhailovich Sbitnev, who operated a master workshop from 1893 to 1917. Marked 88 zolotniks, 1908-1917.
