An incredibly rare and most extraordinary high Baroque period Bohemian glass goblet attributed to the workshops of celebrated engraver Friedrich Winter of Silesia. The bowl features intaglio (Tiefschnitt) and high relief (Hochschnitt) engraving and the Schaffgotsch family crest. In 1687, Count Christian von Schaffgotsch granted Winter a special patent to set up a water-powered cutting works which aided in the production of a series of goblets in the highest Baroque taste echoing the richness and magnificence of rock crystal. Several of these examples incorporated the Schaffgotsch family coat-of-arms. This piece was formerly part of the esteemed Helfried Krug Collection (Glassamlung Helfried Krug, Vol. II, no. 562
