A large and most impressive time-recording clock with full calendar once owned by Henry Brougham, inventor, barrister and politician (1778-1868). The clock, signed by Joseph Kaiser and dated 1851, was used by Brougham to keep track of his hours for billing clients. To start the timer, simply pull the cord at the back fo the clock. When the barrister was finished, he pulled the cord again and the number of billable hours was indicated on the circles in the dial of the clock. It is set within a fine, ebonized case with superbly engraved dials and chapter rings and the sides and back of the case feature glazed glass panels for viewing the inner clock works. The calendar is annual perpetual and automatically corrects for the different numbers o
