One of seven metal deed boxes (sold separately) originally from the offices of the British Naval Department, formed and painted to appear as leather bound books. Important documents could be discreetly housed in these wonderfully deceptive boxes. A hinge on the side of the box allows for quick access. Each book is marked "Admiralty Navy Documents" and dated from 1870 to 1876. Excellent condition. Circa 1870. Each box is sold separately.
