This fantastic Régence period commode was crafted by François Mondon, one of the leading Parisian ébénistes of the 18th century. The commode is made of luxurious kingwood detailed in a geometric configuration, enhanced by doré bronze mounts and an elegant rouge marble top. Mondon is credited with the creation of some of the finest examples of Régence furniture of the mid-1700s. This particular commode, bearing the artist’s stamp, is a noble specimen of his talent and skill as a master craftsman.
